I'm an early childhood teacher and I want to have my surgery a few days before spring break and go back after spring break taking at most 2 weeks off. What do you all think? I really don't want to wait for the summer.

2 weeks should be plenty of time to recover, just be careful with lifting. Right after the surgery, you may feel like it's not possible, but if all goes well, you should be ok. Double check with your surgeon first to be sure. Good luck! I was sleeved on 12/13/16

Please make sure not to rush yourself, I went back to school a week after, but needed help doing most things for at least 3 weeks afterwards, I couldn't do stairs until that time. Just let your body tell you what it needs and listen to it

I went back to work the Monday after my Wednesday surgery, but I have a sedentary job.

You can probably do it, but know that you will be exhausted for the first month, so make certain you've got someone to help with the household chores and any child care. You'll need to come home and rest.

I took two weeks, could have gone back after one but glad I stayed home and rested for the second week.

Hi. I had my surgery 2 weeks before the start of school this year - I'm a pre k teacher in the Bronx. Besides needing help to set up my classroom I was fine.

I imagine at this point of the year you know your kids pretty well and know whether you need to be concerned about anyone acting out.

Otherwise, assuming you have a 'normal' surgery with no complications I think you should be fine.

I'm a K teacher and am going back after 3 weeks. I took an extra week at the front of Christmas break. My surgeon was ok with my time frame.

Hope it is going well for you! I would have loved to do it over Christmas break but I had to wait on insurance. Thanks!

Everyone is different but if you can avoid picking up squirming tots when you go back, you might be ok. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and showed up for the four days of summer pre-service training the following Monday. The students didn't return for another week. I was fine, just had difficulty remembering to get in all my Water. You have to prioritize yourself - sooner is better then later! Best luck!

Everyone is different so it could go both ways. I go back to work on Tuesday and my surgery was on 11/22. I did have some complications along the way but so could you. Two weeks could very well be just fine but there is that possibility that it may not be enough.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
