Recommended Posts

Dumping basically is triggered by high sugar or high fat content. The food doesnt stay in the pouch long and will rapidly emptying (dumping) during this process you can get heart palpitations, dizziness, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.

Dumping is supposed to be less common with the gastric sleeve but 3 days post op I started to dump and let me tell you it is no fun simply because I added a Greek yogurt that had fruit on the bottom to my Protein and I wasn't thinking about the sugar content and that Greek yogurt or the fruit rather than that Greek yogurt. I was up all night I was shaky I couldnt focus on anything I felt like I was going to pass out. So ever since then I've stayed away from refined sugars and so far so good.

I have it if I drink my Protein Shake too fast...it feels terrible.

Nausea, dizziness, terrible. I would avoid it at all costs

From personal experience, the roughest part for me is the racing heart and heart palpitations. It makes you feel generally crappy for a few hours and then it all settles down.

The hot sweats aren't a party either...

I dump on certain foods, like eggs, so it's not necessarily triggered by high fat or sugar food for me... pretty much a little while after I eat I start to get sick to my stomach, hot flashes, cramps, and diarrhea... I learned not to eat anything I haven't had before if I don't have access to the restroom. Once I go to the restroom ( sometimes few times) I am ok after that. Just feels like bad case of runs lol it's not fun and I try to avoid foods that make me dump...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
