Recommended Posts

Anyone had this done?

I am due in for one on Friday and I am a bit worried.

I am six months post op and concerned about having this procedure following the vsg.

Yup. Had one a couple of months ago for severe GERD. They knock you out. Easy peasy.

That's not an option here for me. I can do it with some light sedation or nothing but throat spray.

Either way, I will be awake throughout.

UGH. Go for the light sedation for sure. I dunno if mine was "light", but it did knock me out to where I didn't remember a thing. And I have had light sedation to where I felt awake, but wasn't aware really what was going on.

Either way, I hope it's not too bad for you. It shouldn't be painful at all, but I've heard the gagging is horrible if you're awake, even with the spray. I think the light sedation should alleviate that.

I really don't have a great feeling about this. I have been super careful about never gagging or pushing my sleeve to that point.

But the burning I am experiencing is quite concerning too, so what's a girl to do?

IMHO, it's better to know what your dealing with instead of guessing. I do understand the apprehensiveness. Good luck! Maybe everything will subside and you can cancel?!

I really want to. I would rather ride it out especially since the treatment options being discussed seem quite limited.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
