My first of pre-op diet

Today is my first day and to say I'm hungry is an understatement. So far I've had two Protein shakes and 32 ounces of Powerade Zero and it's hard to get my mind off food. My protocol is 30 days on this diet. I just got back from the store with free food I can have pickles, celery, sugar-free Jell-O and cucumbers. I feel like I could make a meal of that. I get to have five Protein Shakes, 4 ounces of lean protein, One cup of fruit and one cup of vegetable a day. 1 foot in front of the other I guess.

Good luck :-) Just do your best. I am on a two week of 80-100 grams of Protein drinks and 800-1000 calories per day. You can have limited amounts of sugar free hello, sugar free popsicles, and broth. I'm on my last two days of it and surgery Monday morning. I did great the first five days and then cheated a little and back on now. It's not easy:(

I'm right there with you! We can do it! I'm on the 2 week pre-op liquid diet -- 4 protein shakes a day, as well as broth or sugar free jello. It was terrible the first day but I feel like I'm on a roll now. Almost one week down!

I'm there as well!!! I am on day 3 and it's does get better each day. I am having low fat cottage cheese as a snack, greek yogurt and i have had some chicken broth and that feels so good. I have been having a lot if Water, abt 80+ oz p day in addition to diet snapple and some decaf coffee. The first day headaches are gone but working in a team environment where everyone is ordering team lunch and dinner is the hardest test on my will power.

I had a dream I ate some bread without realizing it smh.

I wish you all the best on this journey and keep it up we are strong xoxo

Day 6 here. I'm allowed full liquids on days 1-9 and Clear Liquids only on day 10. The first 3 days were the hardest until today. Today I'm not at work, so I've been bored and wanted to eat. But I've been ok.

It was a little better today. I tried the Walden Farms marinara sauce, 4 oz of lean ground beef with spaghetti squash as my only meal of the day.Wasn't the same as my homemade marinara but I ate real slow and it was filling.

GBLady41 Best of luck tomorrow. Please update us how it goes.

I see every ones posts and you all talk about Protein drinks and cottage cheese and more. My Dr. says only skim milk broth sugar free Popsicle,Jello ,No Protein shakes ! just tea and thin liquids. Has anyone else had to do this? Oh and I have to do it for 21 days. I just don't know if this is possible ? My weight is 255 and my goal is 165. Please if you had to do this tell me how I can get past this.

I know the pain. It was bad for about 4 days. Then it got so much better. Now I am post op and it is worse. I want something but it is hard to figure out exactly what.
