2 months today
Sorry I haven't written or responded in a while. I have had a very rough two months. I am officially 2 months out and I am just now starting to turn the corner. My hw 315, psw 269, sw 259, cw 233. The last 2 months since surgery I contracted cdiff, suffered from severe nausea and vomiting required multiple admissions for fluids and IV meds. Over the week, I have started drinking gingerale and for whatever reason I have all of a sudden started being able to hold food down. Today the doctor cleared me and I am doing so much better. I get to start my b12 injection and I got cleared to start working out. I am finally excited.

Update
Hey everyone, I have radio silent for the last couple of weeks. I have been struggling with diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, severe dehydration despite trying to drink liquids. My gastric bypass was 12/23/16. I finally got stool cultures and was determined to contract c-diff after my gastric bypass. I am finally on treatment and things are starting to look better. I am having an EGD today. I have had nothing but complications. Well, that is it for me for right now. Hopefully so everything will work itself out. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Feelin' sorry for myself
How about calling around to the local nursing college? I know a lot of nursing students look for side jobs to pick up some extra money, if you can swing something for 48 hours that might be a good place. They could come over after school study and stay with you to make sure you are ok.

Smoothie king
I have been experiencing dumping syndrome. I tried a smoothie yesterday and that put me in the hospital. I would say not a great idea but I don't know how you are progressing.

Gastric Bypass x 1 week-Just Journaling for therapy purposes
Hello everyone, Today is exactly 1 week post op. High: 315, Starting 269.0, Surgery: 259.5, Home from hospital: 267.9, Currently: 258.6. 1 week makes such a huge difference. In this one week, I had surgery, passed my swallow study, ate mash potatoes at the hospital, discharged home, became very dehydrated and had an ambulance have to come get me off the side of the road because I was too stubborn to ask for help and almost wrecked because I was near faint, had 2500ml of Fluid put back in, unable to tolerate foods/proteins, and have now seen the doctor that wants me to do a pedialyte challenge and if I feel better I won't need to go back to the ED. I am exhausted, frustrated, nauseous, I wish I could stop and rest for a few minutes but even resting feels like work. Today I have maintained 8 oz of Water and 4 oz of pedialyte and 2 oz of chicken broth. I am going to get better even if this kills me first. I am going to succeed!!!!!! I am trying to maintain my humor and positive spirit, just a little defeated at the moment and needed to journal this out. Thank you everyone for just listening and I hope you all are doing much better than I.

HIPAA violation: What would you do?
I agree with that, however, no one knows how many times this has happened. Like someone else said, this could be happening without management's knowledge which could leave the doctor open to some real issues. Then I would speak to a manager or the doctor. However, in my experience reporting to hippa get messy and nasty Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Dehydrated
I was having rapid heart rate changing positions, dizziness, all mucous membranes were dry, only urinating 1 x per day......I stuck it out for 5 days with these symptoms. I had to 2500ml of fluids. Don't wait if you think you are dehydrated also go get treatment. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

HIPAA violation: What would you do?
People are human and make mistakes. With that being said I would show up and request in person. I definitely wouldn't report it. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Should I be upset?
No you can't be upset. Just because you can't eat it doesn't mean they should have to alter their diet for you. Imagine you and another gastric friend invite one of your friends and take her to a place for gastric sleeve or bypass amd expect her to be ok. Ok not a great example but you get the drift this is the lifestyle you chose and yes sometimes it sucks but they didn't chose this. Do you think if you were further out and could have had a quarter slice of pizza or topping you would be this upset? If the answer is no. Then just chalk it up to a bad day. If you answer yes then those feelings maybe justified or there maybe a deeper issue. Either way you can feel whatever way you want...that is the great thing about feelings, you choose not them.
