With all do respect if it's not on ur list of recommended foods or ur diet plan it shld not be being ate. This list is a prescription not just a recommendation for someone to follow if they fill like it. They give these stages of foods to follow so that you don't hurt urself. Think of it in a way of a newborn baby would you give them popcorn on a new stomach?? If not then why would u give this too ur new stomach that is still healing inside? Wish you all the best moving forward and I hope this makes you think some before eating something not on ur list. Just trying to help you from injury!! Best wishes!!!

Well I was at my stage that I could have nuts and berries with seeds so I figured it would be ok.

pop corn is on my allowed list. I had it ONCE and knew not to eat the partly popped kernels. Bottom line? Everyone should Follow the prescribed diet they were given by their surgeon.

Thank you all for your comments. I havent had any popcorn yet and I think I'll wait awhile longer. But everything is not on the list and sample meals plans from our doctor, so there are things I question. Better to hear what others are experiencing. Again thanks All. I appreciate the comments

So really, your best bet is seriously to ask your doctor. His plan is the best plan for YOU. :)

About 14-16 weeks out I started eating popcorn. They have great 100 calorie bags I could buy at the vending machine for a snack, and they were a great way to keep from binging on more dangerous things while I adjusted to my post-sleeve dietary habits. Almost 18 months out now I still eat it pretty often, although I prefer microwave light pop versus some of the really saturated/cheese dust coated brands they sell at gas stations. Those things can have 400+ calories per bag!

I spoke with my surgeon and my nutritionist. As long as I'm hitting my Protein goals and Water goals they are fine with me having popcorn occasionally. I like to have some at the hockey games and at the movie theater. They just asked that I make my own and keep it low fat, low salt. I really can't eat more than a serving so...lol! The only thing I do is eat it carefully to make sure I don't get the shell or hard parts, I don't want my tummy to be upset. I'm at 8 weeks today!! just realised, yay!

How did you know that was on my mind, a nice glass of Mascato is winking at me. But I'm afraid to add anything right now.

Had my 6 week follow up today. My surgeon said I was ok to eat popcorn at 4 weeks. He said by then the stomach is healed enough for any food.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
