Not losing weight during liquid diet

Recommended Posts

I started my liquid diet November 11th I weighed in November 18th and I lost 6 pounds but since then I haven't lost anymore weight the scale is still the same as it was 2 weeks ago. I'm kind of worried because I was expected to lose 25 pounds before my surgery date which is December 8th on this liquid diet really frustrated please help...... Is that normal

I lost 8lbs on my liquid diet. I was so weak and tired I could barely move. I think the pre-op liquid diets are pointless and waste but that is really another topic.

Everyone doesn't lose a ton on the pre-op diet and if they could't they couldn't need surgery.

Exactly!!! You're so right. My energy level has not been the same since I started this liquid diet I feel more miserable than anything I'm just afraid it may affect my surgery if I don't lose more weight on top of the way I've already lost during my supervisor dieting.

Pre op liquid diet is the shrink your liver. Having a high sugar, high carb diet can produce a fatty liver which makes it hard for the surgeon to work and puts you as increase risk. If the liver is too large than the surgeon may have to open you up fully or either deny you the surgery. So try not to cheat.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
