My insurance required a 12 month counseling/nurse program where they called every month to discuss goals and diet and etc. I graduate this program on December 19th and then I can get my surgery scheduled.

I'm a lower BMI of 34/35 5ft9 at 240 lbs. I'm very diabetic and am on several different medications and while I've never been EXTREMELY overweight, it's always been a battle. I'm hoping the sleeve will help me get my adapt to a new lifestyle and provide the tools I need to finally take the excess weight off. If successful I hope to be off most of my medications, I've heard those that follow the rules have alot of success controlling their blood sugars and don't have to take as many medications...I think I'm most excited about that.

In addition to doing this for myself and my health, I also have two kids a 7 year old and a 9 year old I'd like to set a better example for.

Also I'm recently engaged and am excited to lose the weight for my wedding next year!!!!

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome

@@Crissy Lynne

hi newbie :)

having surgery will improve, get rid of diabetes

my doc says i/we will always be diabetic

but now it will be helped/controlled by healthy eating, lifestyle

not medication

you have a great attitude towards the sleeve and your new lifestyle

you are aware that the sleeve will help/assist you in losing weight

but YOU have a lot of work to do

you work with the sleeve, and the sleeve will work for/with you

wishing you a sooner than later DOS

good luck

kathy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
