I'm 8 weeks post op and always dizzy. Doesn't matter what I do or even if I do nothing. It comes on randomly or when i get up/stand up from bending. What causes this? I am hydrated... and will it ever go away?!

I do. It's called postural hypotension (or orthostatic hypotension), basically a brief drop in your blood pressure.

The only time I have had high blood pressure was briefly in hospital, post op. Since then my blind pressure has been low. So much so that when testing for a postural drop (taking BP while sitting, then immediately after getting up) my standing BP was undetectable.

The trick is to change positions slowly.. if not you can faint.

I did at 3 weeks post op.

I'd lost a good bit prior to surgery and it continued to fall off.

I was at Best Buy looking at music....bent down to the grab a CD from the bottom shelf and almost....almost passed out. Cold sweat, dizzy, clammy feeling for a while after. Went outside and sat in car a while before driving home.

I checked my blood pressure once I made it home. It was crazy low. I was still taking meds for high blood pressure, too. A call to the doctor....meds were immediately cut in half with a plan to further reduce later on.

I felt much better a couple days later an only experience the dizziness when I had low blood pressure.

Around 6 months post op I was taken off the meds and my blood pressure has been doing very well since.

Not sure if that's what is causing yours....but it caught me off guard bigtime.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
