I am looking for others who have a surgery date scheduled on 12/12/2016. I am starting to get nervous, but this has been in the works for over 9 months! Full-sleeve ahead. I am thirty years old, live in the Pacific NW of the US, and have been over 200lbs since I was twelve. I am looking forward to this second chance.

I'm going n the 12th as well. But my dr has not even mentioned anything about a pre-op diet.

I just had mine 11/14. I was nervous too. You'll do great. Your surgery is scheduled on my birthday so sending good vibes your way. I was down maybe 4-5 days. Im 7 days post op and feel great no pain meds etc.

Start my liquid diet on 11/28 also. Surgery is on 12/9. Thanksgiving this year is going to be last real food for a couple of months. More nervous about the unknown factor of how I will do through the early stages. Type 1 diabetic so have hope that this surgery will help in getting this under control.

@@Gypsymama, let's stay in touch. We will have the same WLS anniversary and I think that is pretty cool.

@@Mothra62 keep pushing thru. It has definitely been tough especially when everyone else is eating, but we are all strong enough to push thru to the end.

I'm the 12th as well! I have a 2 week liquid diet and I'm struggling more with my emotions than not eating. This journey is life changing in so many ways than just physical, but I am already so happy I'm able to do it!

Teeman, day 3 on liquid not too bad. I also put the smokes down the same day I started pre-op diet. I would ha e to say that I am wanting a smoke more than food.

December 19th 2016... I shall be Sleeved! Let the journey begin!!

Dana

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
