I am just at the beginning stages of this and have some questions regarding timelines with Health Partners.

I have not had an appointment with a surgeon yet as I have to go to a seminar first. Just wondering what is to come after first appointment with surgeon and how long it might take before I can get surgery? I am almost 100% certain I will be approved.

I just had my first meeting with my doctor today and I also have Heath care partners. He told me I have a checklist to complete with meetings and a few other appointments.he said when I get that done it would be about 2 months until he can do the surgery.I know every doc is different but he moves pretty quick if you get the footwork done fast.

First you get qualified in regards to your bmi #. Then make sure your insurance is in the network. Your appt will be set to meet with your surgeon. Please keep in mind all surgeons work different. My surgeon stated that my insurance Co requires me to see a nutritionist for a few mos, then other items on your check list. My process took 5 mos, my surgery is Dec but my original date was Oct 19 but it got denied. My dr appealed it since it's medical necessary. It got approved this past week. Thank God and set for Dec 7. Everyone has different things. Just be positive and do your honework. It's worth it. Good luck

Thank you both for your replies. I did pick a surgeon that is in network with my insurance. I spent about 3 days researching the ones I can choose from and finally picked. I tried to make an appointment and was told I had to go to a seminar first. I'm not used to the process at all and I know Health Partners has its own process too.

Thanks again for your insight, I appreciate it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
