Well, now here comes the rebel!! ME!! Not really because my Surgeon never said I couldn't chew my gum. I have chewed gum my whole darn life and I never have swallowed it ever. Just after reading of someone needing surgery to remove gum from their opening (pouch opening in case someone is wondering. LO<) I swallowed my gum!! Was I scared WHY YES I WAS!! Did it stop me from chewing my gum? NOT!! I have chronic dry mouth and my gum helps me deal with it. Now I don't want to be a DEBBIE DOWNER but...our dentist told us that these things keep him in business: chewing ICE, popcorn, hard candy chewy candy!! Just a side note if you crave ice and chew on it may be a health reason. I have heard that it can mean low Iron or being anemic. One of the things I do to help me not munch is Facebook Support groups, coloring, reading talking on the phone, brushing my teeth. And if I am craving something that I just can't get a craving out of my mind, I look for something that will be ok to eat without messing my day's eating up. Check out PINTREST, (something called ACCORDING TO EGGFACE) lots of recipes on their. Also check out a site I'm not sure of the name but it tells you WHEN YOU CRAVE THIS you might need to use THIS. Sometimes it is a Vitamin that you actually are missing in your diet. Sorry I'm terrible with titles.

Can you get chewable Vitamins? Would that help?

And have your Iron levels checked. When I had cravings to chew things like ice (which can be hard on your teeth, be careful I literally fractured my jaw once chewing ice) I had Iron deficiency anemia.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
