Enhanced sense of smell

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure why, but now I smell absolutely everything...from burning toast in the break room to people's hair care products. I'm able to identify the main components of my coworkers lunches from a few feet away. I haven't been a smoker in over 5 years so I can't attribute it to that. Is anyone else experiencing this or can anyone offer a reason?

Hi, I am 3 years out and I can relate!! My sense of smell is thru the roof!! I always had a good sniffer but now it is almost ridiculous. We live in a Mobile Home Park and our neighbors are smokers. YUKKY I can smell it even with our windows and doors closed!! Not only that but my taste changed tremendously!! I use to love onions and garlic now the smell makes me sick!! I don't know why but I have heard lots of WL peeps say the same thing. I can't even say it will get better because it sure hasn't for me. I use to love bacon now I can't even stand the smell. Also, there foods hat I loved but nope not now!! Good luck I hope it gets better for you!!

I have been smelling extra well also. Yesterday my sister had some salad and i smelled it from across the room. salad is the number one thing i have been craving post op (im 10 days out) so i was thinking it could have been that i just wanted it but ive been smelling other stuff too. If my friend smokes a cig (away from me of course because i quit) and then gets near me, she STINKS soo bad. I think it's her brand because other people the smoke smell stinks but this brand has a distinct odor and it is strong. I have to roll down the Windows if shes in my car. Its repulsive.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
