had my surgery today!

  • Popular Post

had my surgery today at 1100

I would say it was a success . ...I wanted to share for those awaiting their surgery

The anesthesia was good, I was joking with the surgical staff then next I was waking up in recovery.

I have a pain pump....not using it excessively. I have not been allowed to sip yet....the dry mouth is no joke! ha ha. I have a swab and ice Water...so that is a plus.

I'm not nauseous....no pain...no gas pressure (yet) I did get up and urinated.

I washed my face, brushed my teeth and hair....I actually feel human again!

I did get an abdominal band....this is a good thing to have.

all is well......hope you don't mind the ramblings....hey, I AM medicated. haha

good night friends!

I was going through clothes that I have been holding on to. I had about 4 clothes baskets full! can't wait to wear some of them

Wish I could see what I imagine is a giant smile on your face! What's your weight loss 6 weeks out? Are you feeling good? How long were you out of work or had lifting restrictions? I have a year old and that's my biggest worry is not being able to pick him up for so long.

thnx!! I will start taking better pics...I just never noticed until I did the side by side! I am pretty bottom heavy....so i am waiting to lose some "thigh weight"

tomorrow is my 6 week visit . I should be cleared to work on Monday I have a desk job so I could have went back weeks ago.

I felt pretty good right away. I think I did too much too soon. I was doing laundry and vacuuming a week out.

thanks for commenting....being a loser has never felt so good!

CONGRATULATIONS!! Your post gives me so much hope!! I do have a question. In your first post, you mentioned having an abdominal band with you at the hospital. Do you mind sharing more information about that? My doc called tonight to let me know he had an opening on 5/31 so that is now my surgery date and I just want to make sure I have everything in place with it being only a few short weeks away. Thank you in advance and again, CONGRATULATIONS!!

hi Brenda...i just saw ur post. the band is a Velcro type girdle....i would tighten it and it was very comfortable. it helped when you tried to get up from laying or sitting. it just made me feel better...like I was being held together. i would recommend it. best of luck....i will tell u, u will question your choice for the first week or so. but if you follow the directions from your doctor, you will feel better. i guarantee that once you get used to your new lifestyle, you will NOT regret the surgery. good luck
