    Loss of Son

My condolences to you. I am so glad that others have taken the time to offer you support. Let's keep doing that, but honestly, Lynda, please consider getting into counseling. Grief is complicated and more so when you add our current pandemic and bariatric life all combined; a strong, effective grief counselor could offer you some much-needed support at this time.

    Did a bad thing...

This is such a wonderful story. We’re still human. You SERIOUSLY worked this well. Thanks for sharing. I kept waiting for the bad thing - eating them all, several of them and/or getting sick afterwards. Kudos human, kudos.
  3. I enjoyed water before Gastric sleeve as well. I had my sleeve in 2016 and I still don't gulp water but I do enjoy it much more now. I had to smile when I read your post so I chimed in on it. Many, if not all of us "water drinkers" have been there.

    Changes in relationships PO

Yeh, I think, no I believe that “haters are gonna hate”. Seriously, I believe that as we get smaller we intimidate those people; especially if we were already fairly confident. How many of us have heard the comments about how THEY are going to lose weight without surgery. Then, surprise. . . It doesn’t happen, but the person says it loud enough for you to hear. 💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

I want to participate, but I'm not sure how. LOL? Break it down please.
  6. I do my best to weigh on the same day. The first year I wore the same outfit until the weather changed, then I wore the same outfit during the spring/summer. I am two years out now and I still weight once a week now, but I will calculate for my shoes and clothes. I hope this helps.

    ❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

I want to join the challenge I think. I need additional clarity though - do we have to do each of the 31 rules to be considered.

    Kidney stone? Who knows?

Yes please stay hydrated. At this point contact your primary care doctor. Bless you. That pain is no joke. Keep us posted.

    What's the best protein bar?

I've found varying prices on Amazon I've been getting mine from Walgreens. They are not the most inexpensive but worth it.

    What's the best protein bar?

Quest is tasty, but the absolute best one that I've found is Supreme Protein. It really tastes like a candy bar and 30g of protein!!
  12. I hiccup. LOL Once I do, I look and ask myself if that last bite is worth the risk . . . nope. LOL
  13. I can relate to the muscle loss. Please share the name of the app. I'd like to ty it. TIA

    Help

I've had and still do have moments of concern about eating. I'm afraid of dumping.
  15. I typically loved water, but have had some issues since VSG on 12/19/16. I actually read something about "water nausea" and I believe that many of us have this but don't know it. Stay hydrated, vary what you drink. Keep pushing!!! It's worth it.

    Severe back pains!

I don't think it's TMI. We have to help each other here. (I can type better now versus being on my phone.) Please, everyone, do your best to get in you fluids. There is no, repeat NO pain like kidney stone pain and I ended up evening having surgery and a stint - another event that I never want to repeat!! I didn't see blood - that would have easily confirmed it for me since I'm post-hysterectomy - but the pain was unreal! The stint was . . . indescribable. I just still don't know what to say and this was February 2017. I'm still shook.

    Gastric sleeve 06/19/2017

Congratulations on the 6/19 folk. The 19th is a great day. 6/19 is my 6 month surgiversary. You both will do great!

    Severe back pains!

Yes, please. I ended up passing a kidney stone two weeks post op (never had one before) and I was seriously trying to make the liquid requirement.
  19.  6/1162017 -  I can actually see the weight change.  Yes, I know I'm wearing smaller clothes (still shopping from my own closet) and my bras are closing at the last set of clasps, so I know that I'm losing inches.  I  even enjoy stepping on a scale most weeks!  IKR - I even danced off and my school nurse said, that she doesn't see that often.  LOL  But today I can see the difference.  I just wanted to share.  Happy journey all!

I probably posted this in the wrong place, but I'm still learning the finer aspects of this site.

      Newme17

Congrats! I'm in the same boat, down a size and last set of clasps on the bra too. Surgery was on 5/15, when was yours? Also, you can post here, that's what your status is for. 😉 i post in the status and a thread I created for May 15th Sleevers. (That anyone is welcome to, regardless of date). 😊

    Sushi

Interesting topic. Has anyone tried sushi lately? How did it go? I'm afraid of the rice. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
  21. I never asked but in my mind gum creates gas, so I've only allowed myself to chew it for a few minutes. I imagine that it's a mental thing, but I seriously think that gum fills your stomach with gas. I'm almost four months post op and I've only chewed gum like three times.

    Stomach Flu?

Update on an old twist. . . . I am seeking new information on the stomach flu/virus. I had it last week - OMG!!! I voluntarily (If you knew me and how I hate needles you'd get the bold print there) went to the ER for fluid because I knew that I wouldn't be able to rehydrate. My throat was sore and swollen and I'm wondering if your stomach can also get swollen. I just haven't felt right since then. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
