Lovenox/Heparin Bruises?

Did anyone else have to do blood thinner injections? I am getting some NASTY bruises. This one is about the size of an egg.

I had them in the hospital also, probably every 8 hrs and the heparin bruises were worse than my surgery bruising lol

These were my bruises from the heparin injections.

Had to use the Lovenox a couple of times, your not supposed to rub, pat, our scratch, the area off injection or it will deff bruise. I found that out the hard way. First time I had a slight skin reaction (only lasted a short time), it itched quite a bit. My entire stomach, a good sized piece of real estate, looked like I had been beaten with baseball bat. I think Negan and Lucille would have approved. Didn't hurt at all but lasted quite a while and I got to see all the pretty change of colors.

i had 2 shots in the hospital on the underside of my upper arm. 3 weeks out and the bruise is still pretty dark. no pain though.

Using Lovenox for another week and my belly looks like a colorful quilt. All different shades of green and yellow and black. I'm counting down to be finished with them, but am grateful that they are helping to prevent a clot.
