My reward will be the spa ;-)

Hi everyone, happy Friday!

I was just looking at the back of my hands, and suddenly they look very aged, wrinkly and dry. I used to have nice looking hands, even if the rest of me didn't. It must have something to do with what I am now eating/drinking compared to a month ago. I am almost 3 weeks post-op. I've been drinking enough Fluid, so I don't know.

Anyway, this led me to go online and suddenly I was looking at spas near me. Since I have been heavy, I have only dreamed of going to a spa to get skin treatment, massages, nails done, all that fancy stuff. I never go to spas, because I don't feel secure or that I deserve it. I think of all the pretty women going and getting pampered. So when I am at my 50% to goal, I am going to go. I want to reward myself and feel pretty. Even more than shopping for nice clothes, I have wanted to go to the spa, and feel "normal" there. I would feel so privileged!

I predict I will hit my 50 percent sometime around April, early spring. A perfect time for a spa treatment! I'll treat myself since that's my birthday month.

Can't wait to come out of this shell of shame I have been in for decades, and start treating myself now and then.

:)

PS: any ideas on how to rejuvenate my hands at this stage? Anyone else having this?

I go to the spa every day (I bought a membership). Tanning, red-light therapy, hydro therapy, facial, and massage every day but Sunday (they are closed on Sundays). It is about a mile from my house, so that gets my walking in every day as well. I love it! And the red-light therapy is no joke about improving skin blemishes (stretch marks, etc.).

I will totally look into the red light therapy, thank you!!

That's an awesome idea. My bday is Tuesday and I've taken the day off. I am actually 50% to goal and planning a Spa Day paid for by the hubby. I will consider that also as my reward... Good luck to you. Also theres a product by Mary Kay that I think is fabulous-- It's called satin hands. There's like a 3-4 step kit.

If I remember well,( even if you don't get the kit just follow this treatment plan) You cleanse your hands first with a mild soap. You can use a basic antibacterial soap or your favorite hand soap in general.

You put this oil on first Its kind of like Vaseline you could probably use baby oil or something like it. Rub it in all over your hands front to back.

Then you put this exfoliating scrub on. Its something like a St. Ives scrub you can find at your local retailer or you could probably make a sugar/honey scrub. Rub it in really well all over front to back (with the oil still on from the first step.

Then rinse-- well with warm Water.

Followed by an ultra moisturizing lotion. I used to do it twice a day and it made my hands feel and look so nice. That's saying a lot cause I have man hands lol!

Try to remain hydrated.

Treat yourself to a manicure every 2 weeks

Find a good moisturizer

If all else fails there Juvaderm... an injectable filler that makes your hands look more youthful.

Don't wait!

One of my favorite rewards is getting a massage. The massage therapist periodically puts gift certificates on sale so I usually buy them then.

Getting a massage is one of my very favorite things in life.

At the very least treat yourself to a good manicure.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
