Me either and I am 3.5 years out. But yes, I will giggle all the way wherever I care to in my size 8 skinny jeans, TYVM.

Aside from the daily dose of humor I get out of this forum (which is excellent) - if you are wanting crunch, I've just been approved for "all" food. The Quest Protein chips definitely get me the crunch, give me the fullness of protein, and I can eat 1/3ish of the bag. That being said - I'm not sure how healthy they are, but has to be better than ritz crackers.

You weren't always a size 8...

Of course not!! But I've been maintaining it from a size 20 for 2.5 years. I am an expert on NO ONE but me, but I am not a pandering fool either. I know what worked for me, and I am definitely a successful WLS patient.

I'm not sure I understand where you are going here. :D

The disease of food addiction is the biggest problem. Those that have it, understand it. It's real and it's very powerful. My biggest challenge is to conquer this.

We aren't denying that. We were giving you the tools to make it easier for you. Not scolding you about the choice.

Crackers are made up of simple carbohydrates, which are processed in the body differently. They basically turn into glucose, or sugar in the body. That, in turn causes cravings for more, because sugar reacts in the brain the way heroine does. The easiest way I found to combat the cravings for more sugar or carbs is to keep myself full on Protein and fluids. It really helps. You need lots of both this early out anyway for healing, muscle building, and weight loss. You will eat less, too, because Protein is more dense and fills you up.

I just don't think it is helpful to be so harsh. Advice is great, but telling someone they'll fail at the start of their journey seems unhelpful. It's not easy to be a newbie...we all make mistakes.

I admit I am still weak at times. But if I had a sleeve of crackers in my kitchen, I know I would late nite grab one, two, three...... for that reason, there are NO crackers, chips, candy bars or the like in my house. If I feel hungry, I know I have a container of low fat cottage cheese, or a few almond in the kitchen, and all is well with my soul.

We have Snacks in the house for myself and my husband which are healthy and good choices....and then we have some unhealthier ones because we have and 11yr old, a 6yr old grandson and 3 other older boys. But we put the unhealthy Snacks out of easy reach and the boys have limits set on how much they can have. I haven't had an issue once, since I have the healthy snacks to choose. It is a temptation, but we do ok.

We're used to it. I just try and focus on the prize at the end. The kiddos encourage us, so that helps too. Having my hubby do this at basically the same time, helps too. We know the other understands. Hopefully some of our healthy choices rub off on the kids!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
