What was your "last" meal?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for this thread. I've been looking for a place for true confessions. I've been having one gigantic meal for weeks now. I just eat anything and everything I want. I've never been like this before. It's kinda gross. Anyone else do this?.

"food funerals" are not necessary, food did not die. We only will be eating smaller portions of it post WLS and for some foods much less frequently.

Congratulations on your surgery in 10 days.

I didn't go crazy but I did have a week between my last weigh-in and the start of my pre-op diet where I ate something I loved each day. My last meal was garlic bread and Caesar salad - I honestly wish I had MORE salads during that time, fresh veggies are what I miss the most.

My last meal before the 2 week liver shrinking diet was hot Buffalo wings, fries, and tuna steak. Actually shared with someone else so I didn't eat a large amount of food. So yummy!! Also had an frozen umbrella drink. Now I am at goal I still eat this stuff on rare occasions... But it ends up being one wing, 1 fry and a couple bites of tuna steak. I totally gave up real high calorie alcoholic drinks.< /p>

I fully admit I had a 2 week food funeral. Went for Mexican like 4 times, ordered pizza 3 times. Had Italian. Had all my favorite fast food--Sonic, Whataburger, Raising Canes, Jack in the Box. Sushi, cake and McDonalds Breakfast almost every morning

Me too. I ate everything I knew I wouldn't be able to have.

I had a lot of medical issues and haven't been able to eat much since February. I had McDonald's Breakfast twice. But for me this surgery means I can MORE variety than I've been able to for over a year. So I'm excited for 6 months from now. I was Sleeved on 10/10.

Bacon sandwich and dulce de lecce cake+custard...but it was sometime well before I started my pre op diet. I m 5 months out and I don't think I'll ever try that cake again.Anything sugary makes me feel funny, not sick, light headed. And we are talking here about a fruit yogurt not an icecream or chocolate bar. Haven't tasted that in 6 months.

Had permission to eat a few meals at my moms memorial, a week before surgery. I had duck, escargot, lobster ravioli,(to die for), and was very happy, as I found out at the last minute when my surgery was and had no opportunity for a last meal. I had cut carbs a few months before surgery, had lost 24 lbs, so I didn't waste t

hat opportunity to eat carbs at all.

Went to the surgeon's office on Monday and was told to start pre-op diet the next so I didn't have time to have any food funerals. Besides, I didn't want to add any more pounds to my already high number on the scale.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
