Staying positive. I am NOT happy

Recommended Posts

The best advice I've ever been given is this. You have a right to be upset- you even have a right to get a little down and have regret, but it needs to have a limit. Take your 15 mins on what could of been, and then pick yourself up and make the best of your new normal.

I'm not sure why you think 6 months with a psychiatrist prior to surgery, but not one after when you're miserable is not an option. Please reconsider- this is about so much more than food.

Lastly, please give it some more time. You may come to love your sleeve! Best of luck to you. I'll be praying for guidance, wisdom, and acceptance for you.

I still have clostridium difficile also.

What a horrible disease. Have you undergone a fecal microbiota transplant? My daughter is a gastroenterologist and she told me they have an over 90% cure rate with it.

No. It's not easy for me to get treatment for it.

I need a referral to a consultant specialising in infectious diseases but currently haven't been able to persuade my GP to do this.

I am using kefir and other Probiotics to try and kill off the infection while I wait for further treatment.

I have come to terms with living with C diff. I am in tremendous pain with it but can't really do much about this.

So for now, I am learning patience and praying for treatment.

That's CRAZY. How frustrating!!! Knowing there is a cure and not being able to receive the proper treatment. I'm so sorry. People in the US go to Mexico for medical care due to healthcare costs all the time. And Canadians often travel to the US and Mexico due to the limitations and time frames associated with their national healthcare system. If you are well enough to travel Have you looked into getting better treatment in another European country?

I am in touch via email with an excellent consultant in a city an hour away from me. He is happy to treat me but I need the referral to get to him.

I am frustrated but realise that there is little that I can do for now.

I am seeing my bariatric nurse in November. I am hoping to push her to ask my surgeon for the referral.

I understand. I had it 10-24. I feel like a sick person who gets palpitations and sweats if i eat a tablespoon of food. I am struggling all the time to just feel normal. I am always dizzy and feel like crap. I totally agree i wasnt ready or informed. I told the counselor all the right things. He didnt dig to deep. I am lost right now because i had a lot of issues with food and still do

Hang in there. You won't feel normal for awhile. Concentrate on Water. Start there. Start with broth, especially beef Bone Broth. Super easy to make. Throw beef bones from the store into your slow cooker with Water and let it simmer. Drink small and I mean tiny amounts every hour that you are awake. If you are hydrated, things definitely improve.

Don't fret if solid food isn't working out right now. Rest and Fluid will really help. Then you can add small shredded beef or chicken into the broth.

Get back in touch with your counsellor and just be honest. Rest. Heal. Sip. And repeat.

You can do this. I still get dizzy and the sweats when I eat. But I try a new source of Protein often. I always focus on water first, Protein next, then Vitamins.

You do need someone to support you if you can find someone. All your food issues will insist on being dealt with because your coping strategies are gone. Your hormones are raging because the fat is melting.

You can do this! You will heal. Don't worry, you aren't alone in how you feel. Send me a message if you need someone to talk to.

God bless.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
