Protein Bullets - Heard of them?

Recommended Posts

On the Bariatriceating.com web site I saw a Liquid Protein Bullet in several flavors. Chill or pour over ice. Thought it would be good for traveling. Are they any good? Banded 8-16-07. Going to Disneyland in two weeks. Thought it would be good to have in the park...anyone try them yet??

Yikes... not the bullets!!! (in best whiney voice)

The bullets, shots, and shooters are made from a collagen Protein and that is verrrry bad. You need whey or soy but not collagen.

Collagen is great for injecting in your lips or using in your make up but honestly, you don't want to know the process for getting collagen. It's icky.

I'll try to find a thread where it is discussed in detail.

I drink the "bullets" on a daily basis, as well as Isopure. The bullets are called "New Whey" and they contain 42 grams of Protein. They do help control your hunger, and when I feel hungry, I reach for one of these and my hunger pains stop! They are made by a company called IDS Sports and their website is : :: Innovative Delivery Systems - Welcome to IDS Sports ::.

The flavors available are fruit punch, grape, orange and blue raspberry. To me, they taste like almost liquified Jello. They are a semi-thick liquid.< /p>

I also drink Isopure. They come in a multitude of flavors and are packed with 40 grams of protein.

My doctors office recommends both products.

<p><p>I buy these Protein Bullets (42gr protein each; 2 = 84gr and 6.2 oz) and mix 2 in 16oz bottle add Water to top -- they count as clear liquid, don't taste bad when dilluted either. Each day your goal is to get this 16oz bottle in (you have meet your protein goal)-- then you can have anything else you desire that you are allowed.************************************go to: your local Vitamin Shoppe or http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/search/...intsource=main or call them at 1-800-223-1216.$29.99 for 12 of the 42 gram bullets --I have a coupon -- that the website didn't recognize but I called them and they did honor it -- "Save $10 on any purchase of $50 or more" promo code VSC-3123 -- received it from my doctor's office - it also is a "Supplement and Grocery list for Gastric Bypass Patients." (Feel free to use it as well!)*************************************Let me know how this goes!I have done this coming home from surgery on the 4-9 for 2 weeks - and don't feel tired or any other side effects --I now do only 1 in 1/2 bottle for Breakfast each morning. I drink this then concentrate on getting additional 64oz plus of crystal light -- and such.</p> <p>THESE ARE WHEY PROTEIN - so that is the GOOD protein choice.</p></p>

I use the IDS New Whey Protein 'shots'.

They are Whey Protein, which is the good protein...They are the 42g.

They do taste nasty, I would never drink them on ice or mixed in something else.

But, I can drink 1/2 of it in one gulp, and I chase it with Water. I do this twice a day. These are my protein miracles! I can't stand shakes. I get grape & orange.. fruit punch was particularly aweful to me, it left horrible after tastes.

I just got some yesterday. I poured it over shaved ice made in the snow cone maker. It was sort-a like a snowcone. Artifical sweetner always my hungry though so I was hungry and had to eat some crackers later. Lots of protien...35mgs I think.

Actually they are NOT all the good protien. Here is the ingredient list.

Pure deionized Water, Actinase (patent pending blend of enzymatically hydrolyzed collagenic protein isolate, whey protein isolate and caseine protein isolate), malic acid, Myovol? Complex (proprietary blend of leucine, valine and isoleucine), all natural flavors, acesulfame-potassium, sucralose, blue 1 and red 40.

hi

i also use the Protein bullets and i love them. i actually got used to the taste of the blue raspberry.

i use them if my band is too tight and i cant eat alot or if i havent eaten enough Protein.< /p>

i also bought the 25g tubes.

i went on vacation this summer and took these as well as the Isopure Protein shakes. i alternated between them based on what i was eating for the day. in fact i'm driving from Texas to on sunday with my dogs and my bullets are all packed.

my hair is not falling out like i've read happening to bandsters on other threads and one reason i think this is so is because i was dilligent about my protein intake.

check out the price on A1supplements.com. they discount them

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
