Filled? Discomfort? Satisfied?

Recommended Posts

Discomfort means you've overeaten or eaten too fast and perhaps not chewed thoroughly. In a perfect world you'll feel satisfied. You might think you could eat another couple of bites, but Eureka!, you don't need them.

In liquid and pureed phases, it was hard to tell since liquids flow freely through the sleeve, and it wasn't designed to stop liquids. With semi-solids to solids, it's completely different. Not so much filled, but satisfied, yes. I feel pressure in the back of the throat, sometimes pressure towards the back (around the diaphragm level). Once I took one bite too many, and I felt all clammy, dizzy and uncomfortable for about 20 minutes.

It's important to eat slow. Give plenty of time between bites. For me eating slow has let me get in tune with my body a little more and made it easier for me to recognize when I'm done. Eating to the point of discomfort is not wise, it's your body saying TOO MUCH!

I tend to get the hiccups and that is my sign that I've eaten enough. If I stop there I'm satisfied, but its a thin line... one or two more bites and I'm miserable.

I'm four weeks out and when I am close to full I get really frequent burps. I'm hoping this is temporary as it's annoying to have to belch a bunch of times, I don't want it to happen in public. I can't tell if this is my sign that I'm satisfied or if I ate two much. I have only overdid it twice and was so miserable. I wish I could tell when I was was satisfied.

I have a few "tells" that let me know I am done eating. I sneeze when I am full. I've done that as long as I can remember. I also sometimes get the hiccups. Since I had the sleeve if I eat to much I feel a lot of pressure in the middle of my chest. It's like the food is just sitting there. Very uncomfortable. I try not to get to that point.

Last night I decided to give yogurt a shot. Your body will give some sort of sign. In the beginning eating slow is probably one of the most important. I feel. Anyway. It's gives your brain the time it needs right now to process a satisfied feeling. Mine last night was on that last bite I ended up having it come right back up. I was surprised though it was just about 3/4 of THE containers

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
