Not scared, nervous or excited

Recommended Posts

My preop is tomorrow and my surgery on weds. At least a dozen people have asked if I'm scared, nervous, or excited. Frankly I'm none of the above. I'm not even ambivalent.

I'm glad to be getting surgery because I know I need to make serious changes for my health but I'm not feeling particularly anything.

Anybody else feel this way?

Not me but that's good maybe your just at a point of radical acceptance to take a term from mindfulness...I like it. I agree with what you said and doing it for similar reasons but I'm still nervous and excited lol

Hopefully you're not numb...

I was nervous and excited until the day of surgery and then I was just ready to get it over with. Sounds like you are practical and have faith in your surgical team.

I had flashes of anxiety here and there (thank goodness for herbal remedies!) leading up to the surgery, but a few days before this kind of calm and optimism settled in and I was Ready To Go.

I had surgery 9/25/16. I'm down 20 pounds. Wasn't expecting it to hurt as much as it did. First week Very rough for me. I'm still glad I had surgery. Best wishes with a speedy recovery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
