Ok, I don't want any negative feedback on this... Has anyone one else had a problem with anxiety after surgery? I had issues before but once my meds where good, I had no issue... After, my meds, and body adjusted and the only thing I can keep the feelings in check with is a beer and a cigarette.... I'm working with my doctor to try and get my anxiety meds straightened out.... Fast..... Anyone with similar issues? Or with drinking issues? My surgery was June 7th......

Different question......how is your weight loss going ?

Reason I ask is that the more successful my weight loss efforts are.....the better I feel about everything.

The endorphins released from a good gym session are like a natural high......way more effective than beer and cigarettes. No kidding. I used to smoke like a freightrain and drank my weight in beer every month......now do neither.

Is there a way you get some time in every week to do something really physical.....that leaves you wiped out...sore.....but feeling good for the effort ?

If not....then I hope you can get those feels in life really quick. Good stuff.

Sorry....as none of this was a direct answer to your question.

I've lost 55 lbs so far.... It seems easier to grab a beer or 2 and a smoke to ease the feelings until my meds start to level out... I don't get belligerent or destructive when I drink, just happy.... My wife isn't happy because I'm drinking by myself.... I'm going to start getting more active again now that it is cooling off outside.....

There's probably hormones involved in the anxiety. It's not unusual for alcohol to become an issue post WLS. Did you work with a therapist or Psych pre-op? I'd make an appointment to discuss both the anxiety and potential alcohol addiction. Keeping you in my prayers! Stay strong, Dave!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
