Realizing your life is changing

Recommended Posts

So tonight I finally hit me. My life is going to be completely different. I don't know how I made it 4 months without it becoming real for me but today it has.

I start my preop diet Sept 6th and get sleeved the 14th. When I got approved I was so excited. Now that I'm trying to plan my birthday which is Sept 13th reality has hit.

Most birthday I go out to eat and get drinks with friends and family. It's an event centered around all the things I can't have this year because I will be on a clear liquid diet that day. It's kind of depressing.

But then the next day I get wheeled in to help you whole new healthier me so that's a good birthday present I guess.

Emotions are just everywhere about this.

That is a great birthday present for you. Celebrate before your preop starts and you won't have to miss out on what you want. I am just a little more than 2 mths out and my life is not completely different. In fact, I feel like I am living a normal life. Only changes are that I eat less, drink more liquid and exercise. All positive things for my life.

I celebrated my birthday a month after surgery at a restaurant while on soft foods and was very satisfied and had fun. Have a happy birthday coming up and a good surgery experience.

Take plenty of pictures right now.

Hang on to them.

Now......on your next birthday pull them out and look at the difference that a single year made.

I submit to you that you Celebrate your birthday at least once a month.....go out and have fun. Everything gets better and you'll want to celebrate all the time. When I say "celebrate", I'm not meaning get drunk and swing from a chandelier.....I simple mean to relax.....laugh......enjoy yourself and the day to day experiences that are so much better as you get to the weight you want to be.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
