When removing part of the stomach as in VSG, the ghrelin hormone is partially removed. This is the hormone that triggers hunger. Flora is more in the intestines. I would take Probiotics to help everything work smoothly.

I take probiotics now, as I found out that my mostly Protein diet, and post op I was full of wind, and it was quite offensive.

Probiotics helped with this problem, and I don't get so much wind anymore.

I stopped taking it a while ago, and I got worse, so now I am taking it religiously every evening.

I get them from my pharmacy or a health food store.

I asked for a strongest one, so I only take it once a day.

Which brand of probiotics do you use? Is there something specific we should look for when reading those labels?

I heard that you should always take Probiotics.

I heard a good talk on NPR this weekend that argued that commercial probiotics weren't very effective of at all.

I'll see if I can find a link to the show.

I am using Nourex Probiotic X50, made in the USA. I find this brand really good.

Plus I eat Chobani yoghurt every day.

I find the Nourex probiotic definitely working for me, it has eased my symptoms.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
