I don't know what it is, but I keep waking up in the middle of the night, dizzy, with a cold feeling in the pit of my stomach; then a wave of warmth and nausea comes over me and I have to run to the bathroom only to dry heave.

I haven't even started purée because I was advised not to. All I've been doing is sipping a Protein Shake once a day, eating a scrambled egg, drinking 4 oz of Gatorade and the rest of the day is Water. I have no appetite.

I don't really understand why, so randomly in the middle of the night my body wakes me up to dry heave. Am I doing something wrong?

Disclaimer; I know I'm not getting enough Protein in, but I'm m getting what liquids I can get in. My surgeon just said liquids take priority right now to food. Just get liquid in.

While I was in the hospital, I had no troubles with nausea or vomiting. It wasn't until yesterday night that this started.

I would skip the egg this early out. Drink more Protein Shakes. Also - you may need an acid reducer (PPI). Try broth, sugar free popsicles to get more fluids.

Agree. Your stomach is probably not ready for the egg. Stick to liquids and Protein for a while. eggs were not on my plan until 3 weeks out. Stomachs need time to heal without working much to digest food.< /p>

Ok, I'll try eliminating egg. I was served a scrambled egg in the hospital so I'd figured I'd try it. I am working on getting a prescription for pantoprazol. But they messed up the script by writing 60 pills for 30 days when it's a 24hour pill. So the insurance wouldn't cover it. If I get a few nexium would it be the same?

I agree with what the other's said....What does your plan say you should be doing now?...does it say an egg is okay??....My plan at 3 days out, I was on full liquids which included things like Greek yogurt, strained creamed Soups, sugar free pudding, broths, and Protein shakes.......You may also want to check with your doctor about a medication for nausea.

Good luck to you.

Definitely look into taking an anti acid Med. Acid gets worse when you lay down.

On my post surgery food, it says slowly introduce flaky fish, ricotta cheese, hummus, Greek yogurt, egg (scrambled). I asked the nurse if it was okay if I stayed on liquid for a little while longer because I didn't feel ready for any of that; and she said yes. But I was experimenting with the scrambled egg since they gave it to me within 24 hours after surgery, but if that's what's causing the problem, then I'll wait.

I'll switch out the egg for one of these things instead. I've been living off Powerade and Water, which is no Bueno.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
