I'm 30, 5'5 , and 260. I have everything that you listed was wrong with you.. I can't tell you how making the decision to get sleeved ( 6 days to go) has helped me think of the future. During the pre op, I have no Gerd, my sugars have been lower than before and I feel more healthier and energetic. I highly encourage you to get the surgery and good for you!

I was told sleeve wouldn't be a good choice for my GERD? I have a lot to research still .

the sleeve will *often* make GERD worse, but not *always*. You won't know until after the surgery which way you'll go on this.

@@shannonmarczak Once you begin pre-op regimen, it will fly by really quickly! Good luck!

I was 62 when I had gastic bypass, I had everything you have and it is all gone now. My surgeon told me that the sleeve would not be a good option because it can cause acid reflux and make current reflux worse. I have NEVER regretted my decision!! I was only obese for 10 years but they were an awful 10 years!! Not just because of how I looked but how people looked at me and how obese people are treated in general!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
