Hello all☺, my name is Jennifer. I just had my gastric bypass surgery on July 14th 2016. My starting weight before my pre-op diet is 296 pounds. My ending weight after pre op diet was 277 pounds. Therefore I lost about 19 pounds and 2 ounces before surgery. Surgery wasn't as horrible as I expected. It was and is still very painful being that I'm not one that can deal with a lot of pain. But I had some really good people on my side which made this process easier. My doctor was very happy that everything went well. Mainly because I followed the instructions of the diet (to the exact instructions) I also did the clear liquid diet all day the day before my surgery. The day of the surgery things went very smoothly. I have been dealing with my weight since about age 15. I have been gaining and losing anywhere from 80 to 100 pounds. Somehow, it seems to find it's way back into my world. I've decided to finally do something about it permanently. What scares me the most, is when my sister came to visit me last night from out of town. She had forgotten her insulin. She's only 2 years older than me and my mom had to give her some of her insulin because they take the same one. That's very scary you guys! I am 35 years old! I will be 36 this year in October and I'll take 13 bottles of medicine. The only thing that I am not taking medicine for right now is diabetes. Therefore, I knew I had to do something about my weight because I have an 18 year old son and a 13 year old daughter that needs me. I have a mother that has so many health issues that i need to be able to see after her. I also have so much support from my best friends. I decided to continue to see the psychiatrist after my required psych evaluation because I don't want this to happen again. He helped me to realize what my triggers were and why. What do I want? I just want a normal life, doing normal things, and like normal people. And this is my story and I'm sticking to it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
