I had such thick hair before surgery that I would go have it thinned out at the salon. I'm 5 years out and to date, I still have super thin hair. My hair only grew back not even half as thick as it was. No matter what I bought, nioxin, horse and mane, Biotin, you name it, nothing helped. However, I still would rather have thinner hair than being unhappy and overweight.

This thread has been really reassuring. I worry about my hair. Sounds petty, I know, but it has always been the one pretty thing about me even when I couldn't otherwise stand to look in the mirror. My hair falls out like crazy now, and has since puberty. It also grows like crazy. I'm hoping this may set me up for an easier season of Hair loss. Fingers crossed.

My hair is naturally near-white. Has anyone found the thinning shows less with light or dark hair?

So it has begun.. My hairbrush and pillow case is full of it. I knew it was coming and understand that Protein and Biotin is the key to some level of success but I am very very scared. I don't want to be a bald bride..[emoji20]

So do garlic pills have any benefits for those of us in this situation?? And any side effects??

Well my hair now is really reaching its peak in the Hair loss process.... i am losing a good amount during every shower

I think it is more noticable for me because my hair is so long... i think if it was shorter it wouldn't be as noticable... but i am finding random strands on my lounge, in my car and various other places.... but only 1 or 2 hairs... the shower is probably around 50 or so!

I'm post op 1 year and 5 months and although my hair has stopped falling out, it's still very thin. Nothing like it was before. I miss my hair. I took Biotin but it didn't help. I'm patiently waiting for it to start thickening back up. I hope it starts soon, I had beautiful, long, curly, bright auburn hair, and now it's a dull brownish color and so short. Really hope it goes back to like it was before my surgery. Does anyone know if it ever will?

How's your blood work? Any Vitamin deficiencies? Protein seems to have an impact more than Biotin.

I lost a lot of hair after my bypass. I wore a wig for a while. It is coming back in now. Just not as fast as I would like. I looked great in the wig but it can be a pain at times.

In my classes they said it would start to do that at 3-4 months and begin regrowth at about a year. But everyone is different. It's a fear of mine too. I am only 10 days post op

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
