I'm getting my surgery August 3rd and everyone keeps telling me that I won't get a lot of loose skin because I am young. I just wanted to know, how has this experience been for younger ladies. By the way I am 19 years old 250lbs and 5'3

Loose skin is almost guaranteed if you've been overweight for the majority of your life. But it also really depends on genetics and skin elasticity, etc. So there's no real way to tell until you're faced with it! No one is the same. Though, the younger you are, the higher chance you have of getting lucky with as little loose skin as possible.

It really depends on you and the hard work you are willing to put into it.... at 250 and being 19.. you have a good chance at being able to limit it... genetics do play a role, as does age..

When i met goal when i had the band.. i had no loose skin, but i followed the rules, did strength training, swimming and kept my skin moisturised and hydrated..and i started early into my wls journey... I think that really helped... some people think they need to drop a large amount of weight before starting strength training... but its better to build muscle early to enable the skin to bind to something

Who cares about loose skin ???

Not this guy.

Seriously..........get the unwanted......unhealthy.......overwhelming weight off and profit. If there is loose skin afterwards.....then so be it. There is effective surgery for this, too. Nip 'n tuck it.....and strut yer arse through life.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
