Somebody posted something about Pokemon GO somewhere on this website. I read about it, and while I'm not "into" Pokemon, it does look like an entertaining way to get some exercise. I'm just wondering if I would be able to play this game without knowing anything about the Pokemon characters.

I know absolutely nothing about Pokemon. But the app makes it really easy. Walk along, some creature thing pops up, throw a ball at it, move on [emoji4]

Well, I decided to try it this evening. Walked right out my back door and found a pokemon there! Who would have thought? Went on a short walk and found another one. So, I'm in my 50s and having fun playing with Pokemon. I never would have thought it! I think it will make exercising more fun!

But remember situational awareness. Caution, be aware of your surroundings. In their enthusiasm, some people are walking out into the middle of a busy street with their eyes glued to Pokemon app on their smartphone. In Saint Louis, some teenagers/young men were robbing individuals by setting them up by planting a Pokemon node to lure individuals to a spot where they could rob them. I thought I read that the game had a maximum speed limit to prevent individuals from trying to play while they were driving. Well apparently in Syracuse, New York, someone did just that and ran into a tree. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/07/14/driver-collides-with-tree-while-playing-pokemon-go.html

So remember "Be safe, Walk happy"!

4 people were robbed at gunpoint in my neighborhood playing Pokemon Go last week. That is why I don't play it where I live. However, some of our local malls have huge amounts of pokestops so when we do our walks there every other day I can usually load up. Some groups started doing Pokemon Go monument tours in DC which I REALLY want to do. Just hate going in there sometimes.

Common sense is important in anything we do! Fortunately, I live out in a rural area, so when I'm walking I'm looking at nature - not my phone. The app makes your phone vibrate when Pokemon are near, so that's the only time you have to look at your phone. I've only tried it a few times. It's much too hot where I live to be out walking during the day!

Oops another problem surfaced for Pokemon Go players. It is a security nightmare because of the threat of Android malware attached to mirror apps that open a backdoor into smartphones and secondarily because there is a known flaw which means, when users sign in through their Google account, the app has access to everything in those Google accounts Opens a New Window. – email, documents, pictures, etc. – without permission. http://www.foxbusiness.com/features/2016/07/21/pokemon-go-security-nightmare-for-byod.html

Malware is a problem, but it is not stopping me and my family. We are doing something together and enjoying it. With teens and a fat mom... and the gentle activity level - we are not going to stop in the near future. It is fun! We play smart and together!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
