Has anyone found these in a store yet? If so, where?

So someone earlier here said their NUT considers Premier to be lower grade Protein (on a scale of A to F, they said it was a D).

So is there a place where we can see which Protein drinks are rated the highest in terms of quality?

I want to be sure I am consuming the best protein possible post-op, as I am often not a great healer.

Anyone know what's considered the highest quality Protein shake?

@doppleganger, it could be that you became lactose intolerant after surgery. This happens to a lot of people after WLS, but it is usually short-lived. Hopefully you can get through that phase and be able to return to the Protein shakes. Try finding ones without the lactose; that may work better for you.

Also, if your NUT had no reason as to why the Premier Protein Shakes are graded a "D", ask for the research and reports behind that statement. Could be your NUT just doesn't care for them. To each his own where taste is a matter. I love the Premier Protein drinks. I just got the banana one at Walmart to try, and I love it! I didn't get the caramel because I'm not a big fan of caramel anyway and find it to be too sweet.

Try near the pharmacy. They aren't refrigerated (but to me they taste best cold).

They are located in the Pharmacy section of the store. Not located in the refrigerated section or around the milk. Look by the other protein supplements by Pharmacy.

Don't quote me, but whey concentrate is ok and varies in quality, but hydrolyzed whey protein or whey protein isolate are considered highest quality, and unjury is one of the "gold standard" type products. Also, the isolate and the hydrolyzed have very low lactose and higher concentration protein, gram per gram.

My nutritionist pushed me towards Baritrack, and although it is a good shake mix, the business is associated with my bariatric center. They are pretty yummy though.

I heard Bariatric fusion and Bariatric Advantage mentioned a lot too.

My two friends who are sleeved are both on the Isopure one (not the clear, but the protein shake mix).

The premeire protein has a blend, but it is great for me to boost my daily protein intake, but I did use a different shake early on. Now that I am healed I followed my NUTs suggestion to get a lot of protein from various sources including lean meats, dairy/whey, soy, plant, etc.

The premeire protein actually has a blend of protein sources including caseinate which isn't absorbed as well compared to whey, although it is good in some circumstances, it makes sense that a whey or almost lactose free isolate or a high quality whey would be preferred during the early pre op phase.

I went back to WalMart today and found it! They had the caramel and the strawberries & creme. I bought the strawberries and creme to try. I put it in the fridge so it will get cold as you suggested. Hope it's good! I've been using the Inspire Protein powder to make shakes, and I like it, but after two weeks I'm ready for a change.

I saw banana at costco about a month ago but since then have only seen vanilla and chocolate. They had samples of banana and it was a good flavor but extremely sweet...I say that as a pre-op sweet lover!
