  1. I've been taking BariActiv chewables (iron, calcium, multivitamin, B12) through Nutrition Direct since my surgery June 2016. After about 6 months I could no longer tolerate the calcium and multivitamin. So, I switched over to PatchMD for calcium & multivitamin. For the last couple of months, I've not been taking iron, because it gives me indigestion or bad reflux. I know I need to take it. I've been feeling very tired lately. Wondering what others suggest for the iron. I appreciate your suggestions. They do have more chewables out there for the iron, but I don't know if they will cause issues with me or not. Thanks for your suggestions.
  2. I wouldn't buy for the future, because it's hard to know where you'll be. I did that and was never able to wear some of the things I bought because they were too big! (Thankfully, those clothes were purchased at a Goodwill store, so I didn't lose much money!) While I was loosing most of my weight, I bought from a Goodwill. However, now I'm buying clothes from department stores since I've lost down to where I want to be.
  3. I hope it's normal, because it happens to me a lot. I'm about 8 mo out now.
  4. I like Inspire Protein Powder. Carmel Latte is my favorite. I mix it with unsweetened coconut milk. It's available through mail order at bariatriceating.com
  5. Same here.... I noticed a little thinning of my hair at about 4 months post op, but it got worse shortly after 6 months post op. My hair is a great deal thinner now, but I've always had thick hair so I don't think others notice. Hoping it will stop falling out soon!
  6. I had gastric bypass last June. I know it's not the same procedure , but I feel like we go through some of the same things. I had several days where I felt kind of down shortly after the surgery, but it didn't last long. I think your body is recovering but your mind is also adjusting to a whole new way of life. I just think it takes a lot of your energy to totally recover and it's zaps you. The good news is that it doesn't last long. Hang in there.
  7. I'm about 7 months post op and have lost 107 pds! My pre-op weight was 251. I've gone from size 20/XXL to size 10 pants / medium shirts. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  8. I've never had problems with reflux before. I don't take any medicine for it. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  9. I've been doing great since my RNY 6 months ago. Last night, however, I woke up at 3a.m. with reflux. I got sick and vomited the soup I had eaten appx 8 hours earlier. This is the first time this has happened. Today, I was still burping and felt like I couldn't eat or drink. I finally had some chicken broth and seem to be okay, but my stomach just doesn't feel right. Hoping I don't get sick again tonight. Not sure why I got sick last night. Any ideas on why this is happening and how to keep it from happening again. Not pleasant! Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  10. I'm just over 3 months and I've lost 60 pounds so far!
  11. Frozen ounces will be the same in liquid ounces.
  12. I kind of wish that I didn't have a scale! I get so obsessed with weighing myself!
  13. I just had my bypass June 20th. I also had problems with solid foods. Turns out that I was eating bites that were too big and also eating too fast. (This is exactly what the vets on this site said.) I really have to focus on eating small bites, chewing alot, and taking a break between bites. Doing okay as long as I do these things.
  14. I will be thrilled if I have lost 60 pounds after 2 months! I'm 5 weeks out now and 29.5 pounds down. I lost 21 pounds the first 3 weeks and then just a few pounds each of the next two weeks. I'm hoping the weight loss will pick back up soon! Good luck!
  15. @ What is the Protein shots that you mentioned?
  16. Glad you followed up with them! Keep on 'em!!!
  17. @@Inner Surfer Girl Thanks for posting this! They are all really good, but #12 really resonates with me: Give yourself the same compassion, respect, and kindness that you’d give a close friend or family member. It’s time to stop being harder on yourself than you’d be on someone else. Guilt and self-blame fuel emotional eating.
  18. MysticPink74 - You can order unjury online. www.unjury.com I'm not sure if it's in stores or not, but I couldn't find it anywhere except online.
  19. I like Inspire flavored powders - Peanut Butter, dutch chocolate, and peanut butter cup. I also used unjury unflavored powder.
  20. It was just a couple of weeks for my approval. I have BCBS insurance and I went to a BCBS Bariatric Center of Excellence.
  21. @@4MRB4PHOTO At least your doctor has a sense of humor!
  22. Best of luck! Let us know how it goes!
  23. I just had bypass surgery 5 weeks ago. I was a little nervous also, but knew that I wasn't really living my life to the fullest. You've obviously decided that this is what's best for you. Keep reminding yourself why you're doing this. Sometimes the things that are best for us aren't necessarily the easiest things to do!
