By the 25th of July sounds good to me... My children goes back to school on the 15th of August :)

Trying to be optimistic and I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but a girl could wish lol

Agreed I'm a teacher and go back the second week of August

It would be great to have surgery a couple of weeks before going back

My contingency plan is a mess but can work even during the school year

My date is tentative. I am still waiting on AETNA's approval to finalize the date. Any day now... The 14th at the latest.

@ D'Sleeved - it took 13 business days to get approval with constant calls to the insurance company and periodically to the surgeon's office. The whole process started on the 23rd of June and ended on July 12.

@ Shrininqtpi

I had contact Aetna customer service rep... The lady I spoke with was very helpful... Even though, she could not find any information for, me. Maybe because my information hasn't been submitted through imaging yet.

You need to call your surgeon's office and get the reference number for the procedure request. Without this number, it is easy to spin your wheels. Plus, if they have not turned in paperwork it becomes obvious, fast. I asked mine to email the reference number and when she did not do that for 2 days (after the office had had all my paperwork for 3 business days 5 days total) I called until I got it. The insurance company really appreciates the fast reference to what we are calling about. You will quickly be on a first name basis with the surgeon's insurance coordinator.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
