As I begin day 1 of the liquids I'm excited, nervous, and excited again!!! The items in the pic are a sample of what my life will be like for a while. I said a serious prayer today for physical and mental strength, and will continue. This is truly a journey! I'll do well, I'm sure. God is with me...His strength is made perfect in my weakness!

HW:325, CW: 282... Surgery on 8/08/16... to be continued...

I'm on day 8 of the preop diet and it has definitely gotten easier. I'm allowed to have 2 Protein Shakes and a dinner consisting of a lean meat and nonstarchy veggies. It didnt say anywhere that I was allowed to have sf Jello or popsicles but I went out and bought some anyways on the third night because that is when I had my crash/meltdown lol. Helped A LOT and I'm still staying around 700-800 calories/day, and losing consistently.

Are any of you starting your pre surgical weight loss diet? I start mine Sunday

I'm told I will likely only need to do a 24 hour pre-op diet. I guess I'll know for sure at the pre-op appt 8/4. Sounds like most of you have to do longer though. I wonder why that is?

For those of you who are emotional...let me just say, I'm beyond with you on that one. I'm also going through some situational stress, but holy canoli, I seem to be constantly coming unglued. I'm laughing then crying. I'm buoyant and then I'm drowning. I can only imagine what it will be like afterwards. Emotionally speaking.

My surgeon stated that it's to give the liver time to shrink, making it easier for them to manipulate laparoscopicly during the surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
