I'm curious to know if anyone else is itchy? I am 3 1/2 months post op and have been so unbelievably itchy (arms, legs and torso). I will admit I've had this issue in the past when losing weight and my dermatologist has me taking Vitamin E, but lately the itching is so bad I've bruised myself and have small cuts in some areas. I do play to call my Bariatric Support Team on Monday but thought I'd check in here to see if anyone else has experienced this. I wonder if my skin is just dry and maybe I need more oil/fat in my diet??? Thoughts are appreciated!

Good morning,

Sometimes pain killers can cause itchiness like you describe.

Another thought: If your diet doesn't include enough fat you're skin could be dried out.

That's usually what happens to me and I find myself scratching in places that I have long forgotten that I had. :)

I'm sure your "team" will have the answer for you when you call on Mon.. However, if you are breaking your skin open, that could lead to a nasty infection, so why not call today and talk to the doctor on call? Couldn't hurt---might help.

Please post and let us know how you make out.

Prayers going up.

Have you tried taking Benadryl? I'd also get some type of sensitive skin moisturizing cream. Maybe this will help you till you can talk to your team.

I came to suggest the same as @@KristenLe - Keto rash. It can be a pain! Add more healthy fats - you can mix olive oil into your cottage cheese for a boost, or I do avocado drizzled with olive oil.

I'm 3 weeks post op from bypass. And I have a rash just on my

Stomach. I went to the Drs. He didn't know what it was. Told me to get hydrocortisone. It itches like crazy.

I am almost 3 weeks post op and the itching on my stomach has been unbearable. I finally bought some benadryl yesterday and it helped tremendously. Apparently our bodies produce histamine to aid with healing.

This from Sephora helps me when my skin gets super dry in Winter, it has something in it to sooth the little cuts that can happen from dry skin... It's about $30 but gives the skin relief.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
