Some problems eating post-op

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I drank some Protein Shake and my stomach was just fine with it. Today I drank the same Protein shake and a few minutes after drinking it I felt nauseated. It's getting better now after drinking some other Fluid half an hour later but I'm not entirely feeling good right now.

I wonder if this was early dumping though I'm not sure why yesterday it was fine and today it wasn't. I already had this experience two days ago. Both times the same food and in the morning it wasn't ok, in the evening I tried again and I felt perfectly fine.

Anyone else has this problem?

It likely isn't dumping. I had MONTHS where the same food would be okay one day and not the next (sometimes even during the same day). I don't have an explanation for it, but just to say, you are not alone. I have read it from many people. Often times you can go back to that food in a week or so and it is just fine.

Thanks for your answer. It always feels good to know that you're not alone with certain things.

I had some cold sweats about 20 min after eating and felt very weak. That's when I thought it could be early dumping after all. I drank a chamomile tea after vomiting and my stomach settled again.

Today I ate twice so far and it feels fine. Not sure if I should risk a Protein Shake today.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
