48 hours afterwards. Was it a mistake?

I am a mess. Home from hospital now but struggling. So many meds to take. Such a struggle to get the fluids in.

Tell me it gets better, please!

Good luck Gina. You made a great choice to have surgery. It's a major surgery so we need to allow time to heal.

I was also very shocked at how my body felt the first few days. I was sleeves on 6/1 and feel so much better each day!

You can do it!!!

You can have milk. But only if your new tummy can handle it. Start with skim. Maybe try adding a Protein chocolate powder to give it a try.

Everyone is different.

I am starting on Pure Protein tomorrow as I'll be day 5 post op.

I feel the same way! I am 2 days post op. I had a very hard time of it at the hospital. Had to stay another night. Pain meds made me vomit. I am trying to figure out my schedule as well!

It gets SO much better. Little by little you will be able to drink those fluids and get those pills down. take it very slowly and DO not challange the pouch. just sip, see if you do better with hot versus cold drinks. My dr. told me this in the hospital and I found out for myself that my stomach does better with hot tea than cold tea. sometimes i crave ice tea and i have it but notice i have to drink much smaller sips of the cold versus the hot. follow your dr's intake guide. smooth food, no lumps or bumps it will really help. I remember puree cottage cheese was my friend as was greek yogurt as it has more Protein versus the regular protein. I also remember that i could only eat about 1/2 of a small single serving yogurt and felt sooooo full. but it gets better. just get those fluids in. congratulations on your very brave decision.

Finally! Got some greek yoghurt down and it made such a difference! And got a shower, washed my hair! Cleaned the bathroom and did the dishes. Drain wound healing lovely. Phew! Once the gout stops hurting so bad, life might go on!

That yogurt and shower will probably make you feel like a million bucks!! I had spinal surgery in November and couldn't shower for almost 6 weeks!! Once I could finally shower and wash my oily hair I felt sooooo much better!!
