  1. Unfortunately I do but it's not as bad as it used to be.
  2. So I take Wellbutrin, Abilify, Adderall, Ambien and pain meds for chronic back issues. Will any of these be effected by the different surgeries? None of them are ER if that makes a difference.
  3. So I got an approval letter from Anthem BC/BS yesterday and it had an approved date of 6/30/17. Does that mean they scheduled my surgery for that date? I go on 5/23 to schedule but maybe they already scheduled it?
  4. I have been on this journey for almost a year now. I had jumped through the insurance hoops only to have my insurance company change right before a date could be set! So then I went through all of the requirements for the new company. I was approved immediately over the phone last week!! Now I'm starting to second guess my decision for RNY and am thinking more along the lines of sleeve. My reflux has improved greatly over the past few months and that was my main reasoning for RNY to begin with. I have an appointment on 5/23 to set my surgery date. I have a EDG scheduled for 5/11 and will have an UGI on 5/23 as well. What are some things you considered when making your choice between the two surgeries. My doc does think I'm a good candidate for RNY.
  5. I'm hoping for a September surgery. I have one more NUT appointment on the 31 of August then we can submit to insurance for approval. I really want to get it in September because my insurance deductible gets reset October 1. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I don't think you can view them from the app. I think you have to be on the website to view a profile. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm having my surgery in Charlottesville too! Who did yours? I'm shooting for a September date. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Mine asked questions about why I want the surgery, what I expect from surgery, if I understood what was going to happen, and stuff like that. No big deal really! You'll be just fine!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. So I just received a notice from my insurance that my psych eval was denied because it was not medically necessary. Once the requirements are met and I submit for insurance approval can I resubmit that claim for possible coverage? Not quite sure how all of this insurance stuff works!! 10. That's the good thing about online classes...I'm able to work ahead! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. So I'm planning on surgery sometime in September. I am also planning on going back to school...Liberty University Online...in August. The classes of course are all online but can be pretty intense. Do you think I'll be fine after surgery to keep up with my online classes? Classes consist of a lot of reading and paper writing. 13. It could be a fluctuation in your hormones. My hair and skin started getting SUPER oily after I had my partial hysterectomy. I was told it was because of a change in my hormones. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. Omg! That's just horrible! They are obviously jealous of you and what you have already accomplished. I have a family member that I know would say something like that if she knew I was wanting to have surgery....therefore she will never find out. I'm so sorry this happened to you!! And congrats on the weight loss so far! I know it hasn't been easy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I attended support group at my surgeon's office last night and we discussed Vitamins. They only recommend iron if menstruating or labs indicate it's low. Hopefully I won't need it...it constipates me! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  18. So after my initial appointment with my surgeon I made an appointment for my mental health clearance with an old psych practice that I use to go to. Then I found the info in my packet with the psych practice that surgeon recommends. I called and made an appointment with them too but something told me not to cancel the other one. Well on Monday, day before appointment with surgeon recommended one, I received a phone call that the provider they were having me see was not in network. She said that they could try to submit a different provider but it could take 10 days for approval and I would have to pay for Tuesday's appointment out of pocket. It was going to be around $1,000!!! I told her to cancel it! Luckily I never canceled original appointment. I had it today and was cleared by them!! Now only 2 more months with NUT and then time to submit to insurance!! Getting more real everyday!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  23. If it makes you feel any better my surgeon doesn't even require the two week preop liquid diet. He says there is not enough evidence that shows it reduces your liver significantly. You're gonna be just fine. I'm not saying to go against what your surgeon has told you. I'm just saying that you'll be ok with one slip up...just don't make a habit of it! 24. Yes, when I've had abdominal laparoscopic surgery in the past I have noticed those too. They take some time but will eventually go away...or at least not be noticeable any longer. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm early in the process but would love to talk. Message me your email and I'll shoot you an email tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
