I started mine a week early the day before my surgery. They had me wear something that was like a depends for the surgery and once I was able to get up and move around I was able to wear my own underwear and a pad. Just let them know, it's no big deal, they are totally used to it.

Mine showed up the morning of surgery. I let them know when I was asked to change. Got some lovely granny panties and a pad. My male dr laughed when I told him and said I was one of the extra lucky ones. lol No big deal at all to anyone.

I'm glad you posted this Bcus my monthly reminder will be down the day of my surgery as well. I suffer with bad cramps as well. Wondering what to take or wait it out. But hopefully it won't be as bad

I suffer with bad cramps and my period came down right after my surgery. The idea of it wasn't so bad because the pain medicine they give will have you floating on air no worries......there after I was sent home with a Vicodin/norco pain pills 60 of them.....YOU WILL NOT SUFFER LOL

I also started the morning of my surgery, they will give you the mesh panties and a pad.... I wouldn't leave a tampon in or anything because during my surgery @ 11am they gave me a catheter and I didn't get up until that night around 9 to walk, the most annoying thing about being on my period was that they wanted to measure my urine and that was kinda gross, but they didn't care about the mess, and the nurses were helpful with the giant pads lol

Was the catheter painful? last time i had one was 11 years ago when i had my daughter and that hurt more than the actual delivery .

Yep pad and granny-like meshy panties it was. actually wasn't too bad though because surgery was pretty quick and I was up shortly after that night.

I was bang on my 3rd day of my period when I had my op. I ve told them, one of the hca was pulling straight faces but after straight away the nurse behind her came and said I shouldn't worry. They were adamant that I need to do a pregnancy test and I had to which it was kind of weird. They gave me paper pants, I have put a pad on and that was it. Don't worry about it, it will be fine.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
