Lap band with plication removal

Recommended Posts

Anyone here have any information if I want to remove the lap band? I got a lap band with plication surgery done. I am about to go to my doctor and see if I can get the lap band removed. Even if you didn't get this done what should I expect? If they remove the lap band in the hospital I would just have the plication, correct? Would I just have the plication as a result of removing the lp band? Please give feedback.

I was supposed to have band to sleeve revison on Tuesday. I actually forgot that I had band with plication 5 years ago. When I woke up after surgery he said I was not able to be sleeved due to the damage from the plication. He did removed the band (Thank goodness!!!) but he says my only future option will be bypass now.

Yes they did revise it to a gastric sleeve. But apparently I'm still in cramping and pain. It is sometimes there.. and sometimes not there. I mean there are pros and cons to having the surgery. I can definitely feel something is wrong.

I pray nothing is wrong and its your body adjusting to the sleeve. Glad you were able to convert.

I have been told that it will be a two part surgery...which im dreading but for safety and optimal results..I'LL TAKE IT

I know this is an old thread but what was your reason for wanting the lap band removed? I met with a surgeon last week about revision surgery and he wants to do plication with lap-band over it, told me it was the best option to be successful this time. I see you are in NJ and I am as well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
