Are there any items (not necessarily food) that have been very helpful? For example, calorie tracker, step counter, big enough water bottle, containers to help with Portion Control, something to help with Protein, anything else? THANKS!!!

I'm a little over 3 weeks post op. The things I am finding the most useful:

- food scale. Get used to measuring everything.

- Immersion blender. You will be drinking lots of Protein shakes. I had been using a shaker bottle, but the immersion blender is so much easier and makes the shake smoother.

- 4 oz containers. Has 2 uses. First, makes it easy to make sure I'm eating the right amount. Second, my portion of food fills the container, which for some reason makes me more satisfied with the meal. Even though 4oz easily fills me up, it was depressing to see my tiny portion of food in a big bowl. It made me feel deprived even though I wasn't hungry. Brains are weird!

- Tiny spoon & fork. Helps make sure I eat slower and take smaller bites.

- 32 oz Water bottle with measurements on the side. Makes it easier to keep track of Fluid intake.

I really appreciate this topic, looking forward more replies.

The Yeti vacuum stainless steel drink cups are excellent at keeping drinks hot/cold, your choice.

Regards

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
