Tingling toes, weird sensations one week out from surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I was sleeved one week ago today. Yesterday was a strange day. I awoke feeling super weak but knew that wasn't uncommon so wasn't concerned. By early evening, my toes were tingling and as I walked around the house, it felt like I wasn't making full contact with the ground, like I was stepping on something real airy. Hard to describe and is a very strange feeling. As a result of being constipated, I took laxatives which went into full effect late last night and of course, you know the results of laxatives is always diarrhea or close to it. I'm feeling the same today.

I've had no problems meeting my Water and Protein goals, take the 2 Bariatric Advantage chewables as directed, so I don't what the heck this is.

I have contacted my surgeon's office, but I just am wondering if anybody else has experienced this? Thank you :)

Could be temporary, associated with less carbs and calories. However, it's also a symptom of diabetes. Check with the doctor.

@@SusanB55 It could be low potassium - but it could also be a number of other things that you need to discuss with your surgeon. Hope you feel better soon! Keep us posted as to what your surgeon thinks is going on!

Thank you! I considered carb withdrawal which may be why I get shaky hands quite often. I read somewhere that this might be a deficiency. I'll ask the doc tomorrow at my post op.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
