Does anyone have the Prothrombin gene mutation? Anyone have any complications with blood clots? I had a PE a year and a half ago and was on blood thinner. I haven't been on thinners for a bit now and the hematologist said I'd be a good candidate for the sleeve. Has anyone had blood clots after the surgery?

I have the Factor 5 clotting disorder, had a PE seven years ago. Off of thinners for 6 years. The first hematologist that was going to clear me put me on thinners for life and sent me to go get an IVC filter. My bariatric surgeon had me get a second opinion. The new hematologist said blood thinners until surgery and until I am completely mobile afterwards, no filter needed. After that I can take an aspirin daily.

I have factor 2- I've never personally had a clot but my dad has had 5 and both my grandparents passed away due to strokes likely caused by clots. I've known since I was 10 so I've always been careful. Aspirin every day while I was pregnant, lovenox 6 weeks after, dr said this time around he will put me on thinners before and after. Not quite sure how I feel about thinners before.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
