I live in Canada, and alot of food you guys talk about I can't get here. My parents are going to Minot this week and I want them to look for a few things I've read about on here. So I'm asking for help about where you buy the following...

Isopure Protein drinks...it seems people either love them or hate them, I'd just like to try them

Alot of you talk about flavoured tuna packets?? It sounds like they're kind of a single serving thing??I love tuna and would like to try these

Mr cheese o's....I think people have said you can get these at target?

P3 snack packs.

Thanks!

there is a company in Canada that you can order from online, low carb grocery and I am sure they have the chees o's, be careful they are very high in sodium. The website has all kinds of great low carb goods. In Canada wamart has a P3 snack which are good. In the U.S. I have bought the tuna packets at Walmart and mijers and they are really good.

The flavored tuna packets are starkist.

I get mr cheese o's from Amazon. I have heard you can get them at target but I haven't seen them at mine.

I personally didn't really like the Isopure. I did like ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates when I was on clears.

I too wasn't fond of the Isopure drinks, but I found them more tolerable over ice and mixed 1:1 with Water. The ones I liked best were the grape and blue raspberry, but there were a few I didn't try simply because I didn't care for the particular flavorings as a whole. I normally bought mine at GNC, but I know they can be ordered on most online sites.

P3 snack packs are in abundance on the Gulf Coast. You can find them everywhere from Walmart/Target to pharmacies and gas stations. I prefer just regular deli meat and cheeses for lower sodium purposes, but will grab one or two for work just in case I forget to pack something.

@@rydersmama P3 snack Packs are small portion of high Protein "snacks" that often have a few nuts, small amount of cheese and a deli meat. You can put them together yourself - and it's much cheaper. The prepackaged ones are great to grab in a hurry (have at alot of gas stations/Food Mart's). They also sell them at Target. I just got the tuna packets at Target but they have them at most grocery stores. You can probably get both at Walmart too.

Ok thanks. Our Walmart where I live doesn't sell the P3's.

I don't want to order this stuff online because I don't want a large quantity in case I don't like it....my stomach is very picky these days.

The tuna packets...what flavours are there?

Thanks for all your replies so far

Personally, I like the ranch best. The teriyaki is pretty good. I was at big lots the other day and they had a ton of the lemon.

the only store I've found the Isopure drinks is GNC. While the tuna packets are available at most grocery stores, I would recommend going to Walmart to get them since from what I've seen they have the most variety of flavors in one place. Bumble bee is another brand that has pouches of flavored tuna with some different flavors from Starkist such as jalapeno and sundried Tomato and basil. If you like salmon, chicken of the Sea brand has pouches of flavored salmon. All three brands of pouches can be found at Walmart.

I finally found sugar free maple Syrup [emoji3]. There is a heap of food I read about on this forum I can't get here. I wonder how much customs would let me bring back on the plane...

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
