Question on Recovery

Recommended Posts

I had a brachioplasty and a breast lift on 4/21. I was just wondering what the average time to get back to "normal" is? Normal as in having normal range of motion back with your arms, being able to bed over without discomfort due to the lift, ect. Because everything is so tight right now and my boobs have never been this tight. Thanks

You're not even 2 full weeks out yet. Your surgeon should have given info on you lifting restriction. But definitely don't expect full range of motion for another couple of weeks still. As for breasts, the swelling can last about 2 months.

He has given me restrictions and all. I can't lift over my head and no more than 5 lbs. I was just curious on range of motion and stuff like that. Thanks!

My surgeon recommended I did not lift my hands over my head for three weeks. I am just over four months post-op now and there are days when it still feels like my arms are stretching when I lift them, but I would say it was a good six weeks before my arms felt normal.

Thank you so so much! Today is 3 weeks and I'm getting a little more range of motion, but he still told me nothing more than 5 lbs and don't reach over my head. I'm healing really good, just a few more weeks of my arms being wrapped. Thanks again!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
