Any Seattle/Tacoma Sleevers with surgeries approaching?

So excited for you both! I'm still in the early stages, need to decide on a surgeon. (It's between Srikanth and Houseworth).

Is your surgeon here in Washington?

I admit, I woke up at 5am, pretty darned excited. (And hungry!). Crossing my fingers and toes against post-op nausea for me/you/all of us.

Yes, dr. Srikanth in federal way

Good luck today to both of you! Camber it is a wait in the waiting room. Did you bring some things to do? Do you have a support person there?

My son has special needs and even though we planned for my husband to come, he's had to stay home. He will join me later though. I have my phone and I've been binge watching Outlander. I rarely get to watch TV unless I'm working out so it isn't too bad! I just need to find an outlet to charge it at if they don't get me in soon.

Awesome! Once you are able, let us know how you're doing! It is common to feel nauseous after surgery, but keep in mind that it is temporary!

Well guys, I'm seriously struggling with nausea and vomiting, so much so that I got stuck here overnight because I couldn't drink the dye contrast.

The nausea and gas are the worst. I'm just starting to feel the pain 15 hours out but to be fair I couldn't take one of my doses of pain med because of the nausea and being so tired and out of it.

Hopefully the next update will be from home.

Hi Camber, I had severe nausea as well. It lasted about 36 hours following the surgery for me. I couldn't keep anything down during that time. It will get better. Hang in there! I lived on Popsicles after the nausea went away for a couple days.

Camber, I'm so sorry your first day has been rough!

I'm tired (moving slowly) and dry-mouthed, otherwise ok. Walking, peeing, no nausea. ( I credit the pricy Emend pill I took a few hours before surgery. Intended for chemo but my surgeon orders it for gastric surgery.). I'm not in pain, really, more a torso soreness that my brain interprets as... Hunger! Ironic, huh? I am ver, very hungry!

I'm on IV fluids but will be focusing today on drinking enough. It's hard, going sip by sip.

The worst part so far was the fasting the day before.

Congrats Camber and Seastar for a successful surgery! Camber, so sorry that the nausea is horrible for you. I hope it passes quickly.

Seastar, glad you are feeling not too horrid.

When do you get to go home?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
