Dry mouth and bad breath every morning.

I'm going on 6 weeks post op and I have been waking up every morning with dry mouth, a bad taste and bad breath. Thank goodness I sleep alone- I think it's ketosis or something? But any ideas when it will stop? It's really frustrating.

I have the bad breath no matter how often I brush my teeth and was wondering the same thing. Hope it goes away soon, it's awful.

If you stay in ketosis, then this probably won't go away. It's the ketones being released by your body burning fat that cause the bad breath. So as long as you are burning fat for energy, you are going to keep releasing ketones.

I also wake up with dry mouth, on my recent urine test I had elevated ketone, Dr says is from the Protein Shakes, but can also elevate the uric acid. I should take more Water (although I cant meet up with the 2 lt/day goal)
