Hello everyone, first of all I would like to say that after all of the events Ive encountered lately that I'am still 3 months cigarette free (cold turkey) Yaay!!! :D, Ive had my initial consult with surgeon and dietician, my psych consult is May 10th, according to the dietician I should be writing down everything in my journal LOL that lasted all but 2 weeks, I have lost 8 pds. I even started that execise /dance program I just received called "Cize" its a cardio workout for sure, two days ago I fell and broke my ankle and is now in a boot, the pain is real, I sit and get more frustrated at my limitations, will this effect the fact that I'm suppose to loose 14% of my body weight? will they deny me for the surgery? and in actuality I'm still nervous about that as well, I will keep praying and hoping that the right decision will come to me, I admire all of you that have gone through it and have modified your lives to maintain. I wish I had a crystal ball LOL. a lot of people thinks that just because everything has been approved, that all I have to do is climb up on a operating table and "just get it done and over with" sorry its really not that easy, its truly a mental challenge. I'll tell you what though, at my next appointment I will totally refuse to get weighed with this heavy walking boot on, I will literally strip down LOL good luck and may God bless us all.

Call your surgeon's office and explain about your ankle. You can also ask your podiatrist or othopedic MD to send his/her note to your surgeon.

You can only do what you can do as far as the weight loss requirement. Most often that is set by your surgeon, not your insurance.

That's fantastic news about you quitting smoking. It really does hinder your woulnd healing, and should you ultimately decide you don't want surgery, quitting smoking is a huge positive stop for your health.

It isn't an easy decision, but then the big, life-changing ones so often aren't, are they?

There are all kinds of You Tube videos for people who are bedridden, disabled, physically challenged, senior citizens, etc.

David Stamps has several in a series on chair exercises, but my favorite one that I actually bought was Exercises for the Bedridden and Physically Challenged.

There are also others like this:

I have very severe plantar fasciitis and have had it for two years. I've done lots of time in the bootcast and struggle to walk for exercise outside of my normal day. If you really focus on your food choices, the weight will hopefully come off. I had my surgery on Wednesday and I started the process at the end of January. From January to Wednesday I went from 311-265 with a better diet and very limited exercise.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
